Heartland AEA 11 Online Resources
2008-09 School Year
Heartland has licensed access for all Area 11 teachers and students to the online databases described here. Access is available from school or home, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Each school has been assigned a username and password or sign-up code.

Contains student resources for elementary, middle and high school levels that include magazine and newspaper articles, speeches, historical documents, reference books, book reviews, photos, images, maps, and charts. NoveList helps students and teachers find fiction books based on books they have read or topics of interest. Readers can search for books by title, author or by simply describing a book they would like to read.

World Book Online includes more than 9,500 pictures and maps, 115 videos and animations, 9,300 sounds, 129 panoramic 360o views and more than 100 simulated historic web sites. It contains 60,000 cross-referenced links and 248,000 hyperlinked dictionary definitions.

An online training database of over 2,000 tutorial movies. Atomic Learning breaks down software programs in fast loading tutorial movies played over the Internet. It actually shows you how to use a program, with narration.
